We know that Sony’s Xperia C4 was supposed to jump straight to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update but the recent reports reveal that the phone is now updated to Android 5.1 software. Sony confirmed in October last year that it will not bring the Android 5.1 update to six of its devices. Instead, these smartphones were supposed to jump directly to the latest Android Marshmallow.
The Xperia C4 of the Japanese giant was also on the list, so we were expecting to receive the Android 6.0 update for this handset soon. But now the reports reveal that this handset is receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop update.
There is an update available for the C4 device from Sony along with the Xperia C4 Dual but it is not the latest Android version. Instead, the company has now rolled out the Android 5.1 Lollipop which though is a version which should not have been received by both these handsets. Anyways, there is a new update for the phone, even if it’s not the expected Android Marshmallow but it’s an upgrade from the older version atleast.
Currently, the roll out is underway for the remaining five phones from the six that were mentioned in the list of Sony. As per report, the E5343 is currently being excluded from the list. Of course, the update can be downloaded as an over-the-air version in the next few days. After you install this new software, you will be on the build number 27.2.A.0.155 if you are using the Xperia C4 device, and the build number for C4 Dual is 27.2.B.0.155.
