Motorola Moto X Play started receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update

Motorola Moto X Play was launched last year alongside Moto X Style and Moto G3. As per reports, the Android 6.0.1 update for Motorola Moto X Play phone is being rolled out for Canada and India. The device already enjoys Android 6.0 in Canada and India, released a few months back. Now, the smartphone is receiving an incremental jump to the version number 6.0.1.

This new update brings along new emoji, which will be quite useful for conversation and social media. Along with the colorful icons, you will get the usual assortment of bug fixes and performance tweaks such as Google’s March Security patch for the Android software. On the other hand, if you are not an emoji fan then also it will be a wise step to grab the update to make sure that your Moto X Play handset is secure.

Motorola has also made a few adjustments to the camera app of the Motorola’s Moto X Play phone. This camera app can now be launched with a simple double click of the power button. New Android update also adjusts the shutter sound of Motorola’s phone to make the point and shoot experience more pleasurable.

As mentioned before, the update is making its way through cyberspace to the Motorola Moto X Play devices in Canada and India. In case you want to update your phone to this new software in these countries then head to your Settings app and check for the OTA update. Otherwise, you will still have to wait for the update to come to your phone in your region.
