Nokia 3.1 Review
Nokia came back recently, and with their comeback they brought a lot of devices. Today we are going to talk about the Nokia 3.1 which is the latest of the device from Nokia which comes with some great features in the market, for the exact set of features and perks of the device let us move forward to the review of the device, and know more about the sub £149.99 device and see if it is capable of making a change in the market with the sales figure of other devices.
Design & Build
Nokia have loaded the Nokia 3.1 as a really simple and plane device. The front glass panel of the phone is quite simple and happens to have acceptable amount of bezels all around. On the top right we do have the Nokia branding which will surely affect the looks of the phone in a positive manner. On the back we just have a single lens camera setup. Overall the phone is built on a plastic platform, but the phone still looks and feel premium.
So the Nokia 3.1 comes with a 5.20 inch display which comes with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. When it comes to the color reproduction of the display it is true to the original taste, but at times you will see that the colors of the images are washing out. The contrast levels in the images and videos on the phone are quite sufficient, but on the maximum brightness the contrast levels will start fading and hence the images during full brightness of the screen will not be great, while on lower brightness under 80% will be great.
Nokia have loaded the 3.1 with the MediaTek’s latest MT6750 which is clocked at 1.8GHz and is an octa core chipset. There is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal Storage which makes the Nokia 3.1 an optimal choice for people who are looking for a phone which can make their daily task with ease. Surely this is not a device for gaming, and hardcore multitasking and is just a device which will let you call, access the social media, and do other normal task for which the phone is made for. Nokia sends out the device pre-loaded with Android 8.0 out of the factory. This is a nice gesture for the phone to come with just the second last version of Android and hence the latest version might be just around the corner.
There is a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera loaded onto the smartphone. This setup is made to churn out some really great images, and they actually accomplishes the same task. You can easily take pictures daily with the phone and load onto the Internal Storage or the 128GB Expandable Storage loaded on to the smartphone. Do note that the images taken via the device are not upto the level and you will find the images to be shaky in the night time, and might also find the images blown out in harsh sunlight. Images are also found to be quite blurry and the colors are not that accurate when you use the front camera of the device during the night time.
We can find a 2990 mAh battery which is sufficient enough on the phone to do its daily job. The phone will easily live a full day, and do note that the phone will be powered on only if you do the normal tasks such as messaging, calling, etc. If there is any other work done on the phone like using the Camera, or gaming on the device then the phone will have to suffer a great way on the battery life. If you use camera application for over an hour then for sure the phone will die in another 4 to 5 hours of standby. Hence do use the phone wisely especially in terms of high battery usage applications.
Nokia 3.1 is a great device and comes with all the necessary things required in a normal smartphone. The phone is not anything extraordinary and you for sure will be getting bored with the device in the next 1 or 2 months. But the thing here is it is made to do the specified task not in order to make the phone a gaming device, or a camcorder.
