Samsung launched the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 as its first smartphones with a front facing camera featuring LED flash. Now, the reports reveal that the company is getting prepared to release the successors to both these smartphones, namely Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016).
However, Samsung has not yet announced its new Galaxy J5 and J7 handsets but we can now take a look at these phones. The phones have now got their first photo leaks from China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center, which has now given approval to both these smartphones.
However, both these new handsets look almost the same but the J7 is larger than the former. Samsung’s Galaxy J7 is provided with a 5.5 inch display with 1080 pixels resolution while on the other hand the Galaxy J5 handset has a 5.2 inch display with 720 pixels resolution. In comparison to the predecessors Galaxy J5 and J7, these new devices are more elegant but will come made with the plastic material.
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) will get two variants this year, which will come with model numbers SM-J7108 and SM-J7109. Both these handsets are different only in their processing power, the SM-J7108 comes powered by an octa core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz speed. And the SM-J7109 will be provided with an unknown octa core processor with four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and other four cores clocked at 1.2 GHz.
The Galaxy J7 features LTE and an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded with the help of card slot. There is a 13MP primary camera and 5MP front facing camera for clicking better quality images even in dim light. This device is packed with a massive 4,300 mAh battery and 3GB RAM for faster processing.
With a smaller screen having lower pixel resolution, the J5 (2016) is less advanced in comparison to the Galaxy J7 phone. The camera appears to be the same 13MP and 5MP on the front side of the phone for clicking selfie pictures. It has a qua core processor with 1.2 GHz clock speed and 2GB Ram on board. There is an internal storage of 16GB with further expansion possible.
Both the upcoming Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) handsets will get auto laser focus for better quality in low light conditions. These are the first ever smartphones from the Korean giant to feature this kind of auto focus technology, which was first seen on the LG’s G3 handset. Currently, the J7 and J5 are running on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system but we hope that the successor will get the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
