As per the latest reports, Sony’s Xperia Z5 handset is receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update Over-the-Air (OTA). The reports reveal that the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium handsets will soon receive the update, is have not yet already received it over-ther-air.
It is reported that the first country to receive this update is Turkey, but it’s expected to come to some more markets anytime. Yesterday, the Japanese giant confirmed that Sony Xperia M4 Aqua will also get the Marshmallow update. A tech leaker on Twitter has now released a high quality render showing the upcoming Xperia C6 smartphone of Sony. According to this newly released render, the yet unannounced Xperia C6 will look like the Xperia C5 Ultra handset of the Sony, which was introduced in the mid of 2015. Just like the C5 Ultra from the Korean giant, the upcoming Sony Xperia C6 will also get a near bezel-less display. It is expected that the new bezel-less display will help this phone to stand out against the crowd. A new render of the Xperia C6 handset was released by @OnLeaks, revealing that the image is constructed based on the factory schematics of this smartphone.
Currently, there is not much information available about this handset but it is revealed from the rumors that this smartphone will come powered by an octa-core processor. There is a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset under the hood, which is clocked at 2 GHz speed. Recently, we got Android 5.1 Lollipop from Sony for the Xperia C4 phone. However, this was quite unexpected as the Japanese giant previously said that this device will never be updated to Android Lollipop. Sony also released a list of devices that will not get Android 5.1 update but will be directly upgraded to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
It is revealed that this new release is being to all the variants of the Xperia C5 Ultra regardless of the regions where they are being sold. When it comes to the model numbers, the update is expected to come for the handsets with these model numbers. The single SIM phones with model numbers E5553 and E5506 will receive this update while on the other hand the dual SIM phones with model numbers E5533 and E5563 will receive this update.
Because this is a staged rollout, so you will have to wait some more before this update hits every device available. If you have a single SIM Xperia C5 Ultra the once you apple for the update you will be on the build number 29.1.A.0.87 while on the other hand the Xperia C5 Ultra Dual will be on build number 29.1.B.0.87.
We know that Sony’s Xperia C4 was supposed to jump straight to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update but the recent reports reveal that the phone is now updated to Android 5.1 software. Sony confirmed in October last year that it will not bring the Android 5.1 update to six of its devices. Instead, these smartphones were supposed to jump directly to the latest Android Marshmallow.
The Xperia C4 of the Japanese giant was also on the list, so we were expecting to receive the Android 6.0 update for this handset soon. But now the reports reveal that this handset is receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop update.
There is an update available for the C4 device from Sony along with the Xperia C4 Dual but it is not the latest Android version. Instead, the company has now rolled out the Android 5.1 Lollipop which though is a version which should not have been received by both these handsets. Anyways, there is a new update for the phone, even if it’s not the expected Android Marshmallow but it’s an upgrade from the older version atleast.
Currently, the roll out is underway for the remaining five phones from the six that were mentioned in the list of Sony. As per report, the E5343 is currently being excluded from the list. Of course, the update can be downloaded as an over-the-air version in the next few days. After you install this new software, you will be on the build number 27.2.A.0.155 if you are using the Xperia C4 device, and the build number for C4 Dual is 27.2.B.0.155.
